More Info On Our Lithium Iron Batteries
Lithium batteries are the new technology that is already in your computer, cell phones and time pieces. There are three major types of LI batteries: cobalt, maganese and iron phosphate. Of the three, iron phosphate is the most stable and holds its charge the longest under varying conditions. First discovered in the 1970’s, lithium batteries are fast becoming the battery of choice because it charges quickly and lasts longer than previous solutions. In laboratory testing, it is 2 ½ to 3 times more powerful and will maintain its rating for a longer period of time that conventional AGM and lead acid batteries.
They weigh less than half of a normal lead acid battery of its size. And will re-charge fast – reaching 50-70% capacity if nearly drained – in the first 10 minutes if given maximum rated charge. Its cycle life is also 4 times that of a typical non-LI batteries. That means that an ordinary battery will last up to 10 years. Finally, since the electrolyte inside each cell is common dishwasher liquid, they are recyclable and disposable. They are non-toxic and can be shipped anywhere at any time. The environment is a safer place with a LiFePO4 battery.
